The AJ41 is the 4.0-litre Rover V8, part of the long-running Rover V8 engine family that powered countless Land Rover and Rover vehicles across several decades. In Land Rover applications, it was fitted to the Discovery 2 (L318) from 1999 to 2004, serving as the petrol V8 option alongside the Td5 diesel.
The AJ41 is a naturally aspirated V8 with a 90° angle and pushrod-operated overhead valves - a traditional V8 layout that's robust and straightforward to work on.
