LAND ROVER Td5 ENGINE
The Td5 is Land Rover's 2.5-litre inline-five diesel engine, produced from 1998 to 2006. It was the first common-rail diesel engine fitted to Land Rover models, powering the Defender (L316) from 1999 and the Discovery 2 (L318) from 1998.
The Td5 is a chain-driven engine, using a timing chain rather than a belt, and was replaced by Ford-sourced diesel engines in later models.
