LAND ROVER Tdi ENGINE
The Tdi is Land Rover's 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel inline-four engine, produced from 1989 to 1998. It powered the Discovery 1 across its entire production run.
The engine is an interference design - if the timing belt fails, pistons collide with valves, causing significant internal damage. Because of this, we replace the timing belt and tensioner as standard during every rebuild.
The Tdi uses a mechanical VE injection pump, not a common-rail system. Rebuilds start from £1,900.
